Thanks to its modular based setup MobileLab always fully complies with the healthcare tasks defined by the user. While developing and selecting the best possible  technologies, the focus was on delivering software components that not only match the client needs, but also are flexible enough to match the constantly changing environment and are also able to adapt to the latest trends.

Thanks to this approach we can not only easily add new functionalities but also the teaching and introducing of the system is very simple, as only a configuration of the preferred modules is actually necessary. The below listed systems,  SW modules and components are available within MobileLab:

Healthcare Mobile Platform

The Healthcare Mobile Platform is a central local unit, that was developed in order to manage the patient relevant workflows, to store and share real time relevant healthcare data, between the several sub-, external and 3 rd party systems. It was essential to develop a central module with a state of the art enhanced and secured communication backend.

The main driving force in developing the HMP, was to establish a compact, flexible platform that allows to connect various medical equipments/peripherals (e.g. PCR, laboratory diagnostic devices, imaging diagnostics, ultrasound, ECG, sports medical lab), several sub-, external and 3rd party systems (e.g. LIMS, PACS, HIS) through interface that comply with the latest international standards.

It is important to emphasize that as a result, operating personnel need close to no training, as the logic is the same in all the relevant modules and sub-systems. As such the respective requests, workflows between systems, can be easily tailored to the needs of the specific environment.

Another great advantage is that it supports standardized data management and secure communications. Irrespective of the number of modules implemented, the Healthcare Mobile Platform always sends medical data obtained in the field, in a highly secured fashion. The transmission of secure medical data (sensitive data) is implemented in all respects at a high standard of technology and using rigorous security protocols.

Patient Registration module

Registration of patients is a crucial point in the process. The beginning step in every healthcare workflow is to register and authenticate the patient as it binds all the healthcare data to the examined person. Without this step the evaluated data loses its value and cannot be processed for further healthcare and epidemiological purposes in an efficient manner.

In order to have access to patient’s historical data and record the anamnesis, it is necessary to register the relevant and important personal and health data. This way, the patient and his/her existing healthcare data can be retrieved at any time in the system. Authentication is being performed next to the general registration of relevant patient data, also with the help of biometrical identification data (e.g. vein and fingerprint scanner). This allows a much broader and deeper review based on diagnosis and treatment. Thus, efficient treatment is made possible by which the time and cost of recovery can be noticeably reduced.

Laboratory module

The Laboratory module is a complex Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS), that is connected directly to the different types of analysers (lab equipments). The LIMS examines and determines the composition of the body fluids and the presence and the amount of various biological-chemical substances. The sample taken will go to a special laboratory - located in the MobileLab container - where specialists will study, measure and determine its composition using various methods and instruments. In cases where immediate external evaluation/second opinion is needed the Telemedicine Module can be used, through which real time consultation is enabled.

Telemedicine module

The Telemedicine module provides an opportunity for online healthcare data evaluation and consultation. If for example the healthcare mobile platform staff requires teleconferencing, it can be done through real-time audio / video consultation (eg, external assistance required locally to set up a diagnosis).

Telemedicine module also provides multilateral communication. For example, during the course of the research, the local healthcare professional asks for a second opinion from a specialist on the diagnosis set up using the telemedicine module. Specialists who require the second opinion also perform via the telemedicine module. Usage of the telemedicine module is fully logged. The data is transmitted on a secure channel, the geographic position of the usage telemedicine module and the diagnosis staff is not bound.

Sports Medicine module

The Sports Medicine module aims to track and assist the preparation of athletes in professional sports. The module is connected to health and physical activity interaction monitoring equipments. For example, the development of athletes to prepare for large sports events (World Championship, Olympics). Additionally, the module can be deployed in all areas where sports medicine is required.

​Imaging Diagnostic module

The HMP's functions can be expanded by integrating medical imaging devices on demand within the Imaging Diagnostic Module. While respecting the latest communication standards (DICOM - Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) the Imaging Diagnsotic Module is able transmit images and connect to Imaging centers, PACSs (picture archiving and communication system) if needed. Thanks to its embed medical imaging technology it is used for storing, retrieving, presenting and sharing images produced by various medical hardware modalities (e.g. ultrasound machines). Modern imaging methods have revolutionized medical examination procedures. Due to the high level of security, imaging has become an indispensable component of diagnostics. Proper mapping can be provided not only on the whole body and organs, but also on cells and tissues.

​HMP Control Center

The HMP Control Center is responsible for coordinating the work of the healthcare mobile platform. In addition, the HMP Control Center is responsible for harmonizing the work of the healthcare units by managing and evaluating their reports, as long as MobileLab works in several places.

The HMP Control Center receives medical information from the HMP by satellite or other digital interference and makes it transparent for the decision maker using its module. In addition, the received data can be stored in the central database of the HMP Control Center. It not only acts as a state of the art enterprise service bus (ESB), but can be even used as management information system (MIS). It supports the decision making by providing reports, daily analysis or even if needed complex OLAP reports or scientific research. The results of the database can be retrieved in the form of unique and aggregated reports. Thus, fact based real-time decision-making and intervention is ensured.

The data from the local MobileLab units will be forwarded to the third parties by the HMP Control Center. The data is forwarded either to a central healthcare system (eg Big Data, HIS, nEHR, etc.) or to the telemedicine module for diagnosis, remote consultation, validation and


The Communication module is an essential part of MobileLab as it not only connects the several parts sun-systems but it also ensures real time communication with any 3rd party all around the world, through the embed satellite communication platform.

The usage of containers (Standard 40-foot HIGH-CUBE Container) is essential due to their robust and secure setup, flexibility in terms of design and last but not least the short operation and transport time, as it can be deployed in emergency areas very fast. It not only protects the stuff equipments and instruments from the various environmental threats, but it also fulfills the relevant requirements of high tech labs. While respecting the logistic requirements in terms of its physical sizes, the 40-foot standard container size allows for fast and safe transport on the road, water and air. Thanks to these attributes, it can be operational eminently.
