Thanks to EMP's modular based setup, workflows and functions always fully comply with the healthcare tasks defined by the end-user such as with the latest global eHealth standards. While developing and selecting the best possible technologies, the focus is on delivering software components that not only match the client needs, but also are flexible enough to match the constantly changing environment and are also able to adapt to the latest trends.

To EMP's software environment we can easily add new functionalities and adapt it to the existing workflows, best practices. As such the teaching and deploying of the system is very simple, through simple configurations of the preferred modules. The below listed systems, softwaew modules and other components are available within EMP:

Electronic Medical Record (EMP-EMR)

The EMP-EMR is a centralized patient database, that was developed in order to manage the patient relevant workflows, to store and share real time relevant healthcare data, between the several sub-, external and 3rd party systems. A central module with a state of the art enhanced and secured communication backend.

The main driving force in developing the EMP-EMR, was the necesity to establish a compact, flexible platform that connects various modules, sub-, external and 3rd party systems (e.g. LIMS, PACS, HIS) and medical equipments/peripherals (e.g. PCR, laboratory diagnostic devices, imaging diagnostics, ultrasound, ECG, sports medical lab) through interfaces that comply with the latest international standards (e.g. HL7, DICOM).

EMP-EMR supports standardized data management and secure communications. Irrespective of the number of modules implemented, the it  always sends and retrieves medical data obtained in the field, in real time and in a highly secured channel. The transmission of secure medical data (sensitive data) is implemented in all respects at a high standard of technology while using rigorous security protocols.

Patient Registration module

Registration of patients is a crucial point in the process of patient recording. The first step in every healthcare workflow is to register and authenticate the patient as it binds all the healthcare data to the examined person. Without this step the evaluated data loses its value and cannot be processed for further healthcare purposes in an efficient manner.

In order to have access to patient’s historical data and record the anamnesis, it is necessary to register the relevant and important personal and health data. This way, the patient and his/her existing healthcare data can be retrieved at any time in the system. Authentication is being performed next to the general registration of relevant patient data, also with the help of biometrical validating and recording of the data (e.g. through vein and fingerprint scaning).

Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS)

The Laboratory module of EMP is a complex Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS), that is connected directly to the different types of analysers (lab equipments). The LIMS examines and determines the composition of the body fluids and the presence and the amount of various biological-chemical substances. The sample taken will be processed in a special laboratory - located in the EMP container - where specialists will study, measure and determine its composition using various methods and instruments. In cases where immediate external evaluation/second opinion is needed the Telemedicine Module can be used, through which real time consultation is enabled.

​Radiology Information System (RIS) & Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)

The EMP's functions can be expanded by integrating medical imaging devices on demand within the Radiology Information System (RSI). While respecting the latest communication standards (DICOM - Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) the RIS is able transmit images and connect to Imaging centers, PACSs (picture archiving and communication system) if needed. The delivered PACS solution thanks to its embed medical imaging technology can store, retrieve, present and share images produced by various medical hardware modalities (e.g. ultrasound machines). Modern imaging methods have revolutionized medical examination procedures. Due to the high level of security, imaging has become an indispensable component of diagnostics. Proper mapping can be provided not only on the whole body and organs, but also on cells and tissues.

Telemedicine Module 

The Telemedicine module provides an opportunity for online healthcare data evaluation and consultation. Essential in cases where the local staff requires instructions or special services, then the diagnose can be performed via real time data transfer remotely (as such enabling remote operation) or in simple cases just use the teleconferencing services, through real-time audio / video consultation for second opinion or other types of consultations.

Usage of the telemedicine module such as any other module is fully logged, offering full historical trackrecord. The data is transmitted on a secure channel, the geographic position of the usage telemedicine module and the diagnosis staff is not bound.

Command Center - MIS

EMP's Command Center collects and visualizes all relevant data performed within EMP softwares. In addition, the Command Center can also harmonize the work of the healthcare units by evaluating and managing their reports, if multiple sites are connected to the same database.

It receives medical information from the EMR's of all units via satellite or other digital interference and deliver transparent reports for the decision makers. It not only acts as a state of the art Management Information System (MIS), but it enables and supports the decision making by providing reports, daily analysis or even if needed complex OLAP reports or scientific researches. The results can be retrieved in the form of unique and aggregated reports. Thus, fact based real-time decision-making and intervention is ensured.

The analytic data from the local EMP units will be forwarded to the governing third parties by the Command Center. The data can be forwarded to a central healthcare system (eg Big Data, HIS, nEHR, etc.) for validation and feedback.

Sports Medicine module

The Sports Medicine module aims to track and assist the preparation of athletes in professional sports. The module is connected to health and physical activity interaction monitoring equipments. For example, the development of athletes to prepare for large sports events (World Championship, Olympics). Additionally, the module can be deployed in all areas where sports medicine is required.


Communication

The Communication platform is an essential part of EMP, as it not only can connects the several parts, sub-systems but it also ensures real time communication with any 3rd party around the world, through the embed satellite communication system.

Container

The usage of containers (Standard 40-foot HIGH-CUBE Container) is essential due to their robust and secure setup, flexibility in terms of design and last but not least the short operation and transport time, as it can be deployed in emergency areas very fast. It not only protects the local personnel, equipments and instruments from the various environmental threats, but it also fulfills the relevant requirements of high tech healthcare facilities. While respecting the logistic requirements in terms of its physical sizes, the 40-foot high cube, standard container size allows fast and safe transport on the road, water and air. Thanks to these attributes, it can be operational eminently.
